Blidworth – On The Move maintains the highest standard of PPE to protect the vulnerable.  Our vehicle has been adapted vehicle to ensure that can safely take a wheelchair and passenger. Additionally, a perspex screen has been fitted between driver and the rear of the vehicle, to protect the driver and patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Charity aims to ensure that those who are shielded, vulnerable, with special needs, elderly, sick, infirm or disabled are transported safely to obtain any medical treatment or care.

Meet Our Trustees

Our Trustees all have something different to offer and work closely with our volunteer drivers to ensure the service we offer is as good as it can be, whilst maintaining safety standards and good financial and charity governance.

Before Gilly retired in 2010, she had been Manager of the Multi-agency Criminal Justice Drug Team in Nottinghamshire. She is a Forensic Criminal & Mental Health Psychologist & Hypnotherapist.  Since retiring she has volunteered with the NHS, firstly running courses for people living with long-term conditions locally and at the Nottingham City Hospital. Locally she has been Chair of the Patient Participation Group (PPG) for 11 years.  Gilly is NHS Volunteer Patient Leader for Newark & Sherwood Area. She is a patient representative in Sherwood area for the GP Practices Primary Care Network.  Within Nottinghamshire Gilly is a member of the NHS Integrated Care Services, Patient & Public Engagement Committee (PPEC). Volunteer with Macmillan doing outreach work with Sherwood Forest Hospitals liaising with GP Practices across Mid Notts.

When Mark finished working for NatWest in 2016, he had completed 33 years’ service, latterly as a Business Banking Manager and prior to that as Branch Manager at several local branches in Nottinghamshire. Since this time, he has worked with a number of local Charities including Open Homes Nottingham – a charity that supports homeless young people aged 16-25. As one of the leadership team of Sherwood Forest Community Church, in Blidworth, where he has also been the Treasurer for over 30 years. Mark has lived in the area all of his life and is committed to improving services in  Blidworth. He also supports the work of Blidworth Community Association. He is married to Julie and they have three grown up children and four grand-children.

Seth was born locally in Rainworth, in the same house his parents still live in and he has lived in the local area all of his life. When he left school in 1985 like many young men of his generation, he went to work at Rufford Colliery, remaining there until it’s closure. Whilst working at the colliery Seth joined the fire service as a retained firefighter at Blidworth fire station a job he still does to this day. Seth is committed to serving his community. !n 2002 Seth was promoted to officer in charge of the station which was the ultimate honour. In 2006 he  joined the full-time fire service, serving at Newark and Mansfield, the latter as a crew manager. During my career in the fire service,  he has had the honour of supporting many local charities as well as the fire service charity.
Seth is looking forward to working with the whole team at Blidworth-On The Move.

Jane has lived in the Newark & Sherwood District for 40 years. Until the Privatisation of the National Probation Service she was Chief Probation Officer. Since then she has developed a portfolio of paid and unpaid employment. She has Chaired 5 Adult Safeguarding Boards in England and currently chairs the Boards in Bradford & Solihull. Jane has been a trustee of Framework and Home-start for many years. Two years ago, she helped, with a small group of friends, to set up a charity in Newark & Sherwood that supports 13 Syrian migrant families, integrate into local communities, learn English and gain employment.
